Overview

About NDI Ecuador and our Programs

In February 2006, NDI re-established a field office in Ecuador. Program activities aim to promote political responsiveness and representation of constituent concerns, as well as to encourage more collaborative relationships between civil society and political organizations.

NDI methodology includes the development of alliances with traditionally excluded and marginalized groups to encourage the construction of conscience taking into account their own priorities. This includes the sustained and substantial promotion of interactions between citizens and elected government officials. At the same time, NDI supports intermediary institutions like congresses and political organizations to develop their professional capacities and thus work for the sake of citizens, ensuring more responsiveness from the state in regard to citizen interests and concerns.
